The rate of decline in global PC shipments slowed in the fourth quarter



According to calculations by IDC, global PC shipments in the fourth quarter decreased by 1.5% compared with a contraction of 10.6% in the same period of 2015.

The leader on the market the industry has become a Chinese company Lenovo, which is its clients 15.7 million PCs in the period under review (+1.7% y/y), and the second place left for HP, supply volume of which amounted to 15.3 million PCs (+6.6 percent yoy). It is worth noting that the share of Lenovo in the market field expanded to 22.4% and the share of HP – to 21.7%.

It should be noted that, according to the another research firm Gartner, which does not include in the calculation data on a number of products, volume of global PC shipments in the fourth quarter declined by 3.7% yoy.
